Need to redefine power

Why is power a quality bestowed upon males and seen as masculine? Just because women may like flowers and dresses and are nurturing among all other decidedly feminine qualities does not mean that women are weak. Sure, the large majority of men may be physically stronger than most women. And maybe that was used to decide who had power back in the times when humans were less civilized where one exerted authority over another by the use of force and brute strength. But today, in the context of society today, physical strength should not determine power. Because today, there are other forms of power. Like intelligence and education. Forget money. A well-informed mind will get you far. And, women are the majority enrolled in colleges and universities. So more women are educated compared to men. So women have more education and intellectual power. So women are powerful. Or should be acknowledged as such. We need to redefine power in this society and what it means to have power. Because obviously the power structure in place with men at the helm is not working in favor of equality and justice for everyone. If the highly educated women of this country were given more power to make changes to government to change the social and economic conditions of those less fortunate, then maybe we could live in a more just society. And everyone could be happier. What is so threatening about that?
